When there's a single person in a role, capitalise their job title.

This means we write Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor:

<aside> ✅ The Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor attended the lunch and were joined later by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. The Pro-Vice-Chancelllor was on a much-needed holiday.

Although you may hear people refer to the VC when speaking, never write it this way. (Apart from here.)

<aside> 👀 The full official title is actually President and Vice-Chancellor but it's fine to shorten this to Vice-Chancellor apart from in very formal contexts. See for more on formality.
